Changes in the Law

Since April 2005 CORGI have supplied a Declaration of Safety to home owners when a registered installer has installed or replaced any gas appliance in the home.

This states that the work has been carried out by a competent Registered Installer and is now a requirement of the new HIP’s Home Information Pack’s required by law to sell your home!

When BR Plumbing & Heating Services installs a boiler or gas appliance at your property, we will notify CORGI and they will issue you with a Declaration of Safety.

Energy Efficiency Condensing Boilers

In April 2005, the Government raised the performance standard for new and replacement gas fired boilers. This means, unless your property is exempt for any reason, you are now required to install a condensing boiler if you want to replace your existing boiler.

Although condensing boilers are a little more expensive to purchase, your energy bills will begin to reduce as these boilers are much more efficient.
